The unique restaurant Podwale – Kompania Piwna is located in a historic building on Podwale Street in the Old Town between the monument to the “Small Insurgent” and the old town wall, the Barbican. Unique, because with its climate, its interior and cuisine, it recalls places characteristic for Bavaria or the Czech Republic rather than those associated with Warsaw. Entering through the gate into the inner court full of flowers, which, separated from the hubbub of the city is an ideal place for endless meetings on summer evenings. If you rather sit inside the restaurant you are invited either to its older part, which may evoke memories of a convivial Czech inn or to the new one where you might feel like in a typical Bavarian beer house. Both the Bavarians and the Czechs are famous for their beer and in Podwale – Kompania Piwna there is the right atmosphere to enjoy a cold beer!
Guests love the roasted pork knuckles with its delicious crackling like in Bavaria, or the Polish-style duck or trout. Soups served in enamelled pots enjoy enormous popularity. Next to the permanent menu there are also monthly and seasonal menus offering dishes with asparagus, saffron, boletus, fresh fish or menu from the wooden grill.
